ABOUT

Becoming a Vtuber or VStreamer cannot be easy.... Right?

Well, give VCRA a shot and be ready to be proven wrong! With the help of Unity, get your 3D Avatar ready within just a few minutes.

All it is needed is a Webcam, and you already have a functional 3d tracking for your head!

Even people who do not own a Webcam have an excuse. There is a mode that only uses your mouse as a tracker.

Why VCRA?

The answer is quite simple. It offers a very easy environment, with very little setup behind it. No need to spend a penny in overpriced Trackers and Sensors. And is now FREE!

  • Developed in Unity, you can use your everyday webcam to track your movement into your model/avatar.
  • Don't have a webcam ready, and you can't afford to buy one? By tracking your voice, mouse position, keyboard strokes and some animations to make things smoother, you are able to have your own character fully animated and ready to be used for your videos or streams!
  • A SteamVR alternative! As long as it tracks on SteamVR, it can be used!

So, to make things simple and clear, what is this project objectives:

  • Desktop Tracking: This mode uses only your voice, keyboard and mouse as tracking systems for your model.
  • Camera Tracking: This mode uses your webcam (or any camera that is usable on your computer) to track your head movements, including blinking.
  • VR headset Tracking: This mode uses your VR devices as tracking. Which part of your model the devices control, is all picked by yourself. This gives you freedom to mix SteamVR with your Webcam tracking too.

Any of the methods you choose to go for, they use your sound to track your mouth movement (visemes).

FEATURES

  • Very easy and simple avatar preparation

  • Low GPU usage, if all you want is to put this on the corner of your screen. You can use a cheap GPU for it, tested it with a very old AMD 7800 series. Resize-able window to help with that (the smaller the window, the less work you give to your GPU).

  •  Easy to use

(gif is low fps, not the app, limited to use 3MB lol)

  • Webcam Tracking (Movement and Blinking)

  • Mouth Tracking using Visemes

  • Mouse and Keyboard Tracking

What is working right now:

  • Desktop Tracking
  • Webcam Tracking
  • SteamVR Tracking
  • Custom Animations

hey what file format does this use?

vrm?

(1 edit)

This uses unity assetbundles, so, anything that uses the same format, and uses the same unity version, should technically be compatible (examples of this would be the old VRChat avatar files. or most unity games that would follow the same genre/work-logic).

In case you want to use vrm files, you will need to find a way to import that into unity, and then use the tools that are provided when you download VCRA to export it (you can call it our own SDK if you are looking for a more familiar terminology). To export, there is a HOW-TO document with the files in case you need to follow some instructions.

Thanks this helps a lot

is this still on? or there is no more development

I'm sorry to inform that the development of VCRA has been terminated for several reasons and made free, sadly i, as a solo developer, cannot compete with bigger teams that work on this area. Not only that, but it takes too much time to manage/develop this project while getting no revenue.

Though, VCRA should still be functional for the most part for anyone to test and use it for free, still being able to do what most paid alternatives can do c:
